AGA demonstrations

AGA shops throughout the country hold regular cookery demonstrations. These events are really useful for people considering buying an AGA heat-storage cooker.

As well as basic demonstrations - which show how to get the most from an AGA heat-storage cooker - there are also themed demonstrations covering everything from the AGA Christmas through to chilling out for summer.

The demonstrators are happy to answer questions throughout the demonstration and, best of all, guests get to eat all the delicious food that's been cooked on the AGA heat-storage cooker. Attending an AGA demonstration is also a great way to learn more about AGA cookware, cookery techniques, and new recipe ideas plus lots of interesting shortcuts. The demonstrators are friendly, helpful and brilliant at imparting their top tips and answering all sorts of culinary conundrums.

  • AGA Sheffield Cookery School Read more

    The warm and welcoming new AGA Sheffield concept store offers a wide selection of cookery demonstrations and courses using the AGA heat-storage cooker. Its varied programme of both demonstrations and hands-on Master Class events include basic AGA demonstrations, which show just how easy cooking on the AGA heat-storage cooker is while inspiration can be found in more diverse events such as sausage or chocolate making.

    The events are friendly, informative and excellent value for money. Food and wine are served at every evening event and lunch is provided at every Master Class event. To get a more detailed description of all the events a brochure can be supplied by the Sheffield AGA shop.

    AGA SHEFFIELD goes "Bangers Galore"

    Paul Smith is a local rare breed pig keeper who provides cookery classes demonstrating how easy it is to make the perfect sausages on the AGA heat-storage cooker. Paul provides inspired techniques on how to best cook pork as well as fresh bread.

    All the pork used is bred and reared by Paul on his small farm in North Sheffield. Paul and his staff run the small holding as a non-profit making interest. To find out more about it visit the website.

    Knife Skills with Len Unwin

    Knife Skills with Len Unwin is one of the most popular courses at AGA Sheffield. Len will show you how to sharpen knives properly with both steel and stone as well as how to properly gut and prepare fish and dice vegetables, which are then used to cook a delicious meal. Once lunch is over, Len shows you more ways to cut various meat and vegetables and transform them into restaurant quality foods.

    Besides learning new cooking skills, you have the opportunity to see the William Abdy Collection of chef knives. Renowned for their high quality carbon steel and hand finish, these are exclusively available at the AGA Sheffield concept store.     Truly, Madly, Pasta

    Truly, Madly, Pasta is the title for the very first AGA Cookery School Master Class taught by Italian chef, writer and restaurateur, Ursula Ferrigno. Ursula's passion for food and life give her a teaching style that's as fun as it is informative. In her class you'll make pasta by hand and then go on to cook Pasta al Catoccio, Rotolo Ripient and Vincisgrassi Apertoo.

    Eckington Manor Cookery School is located just outside the market town of Pershore, Worcestershire on the edge of the picturesque Cotswolds.  Situated on its own 260 acre working farm breeding award winning Highland and Aberdeen Angus cattle, the school offers a wide selection of cookery demonstrations and courses for the AGA heat-storage cooker, which include:

    Brook Hall is a Grade II-listed Queen Anne townhouse located in the pretty market town of Winslow, close to Milton Keynes and Buckingham. Owned by Stephen and Joanna Bulmer, Brook Hall runs one-day cookery courses for cooks of all ages and abilities. Head Chef Stephen Bulmer was previously Chef/Director of the Raymond Blanc Cookery School at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and has worked at Michelin-level restaurants all over the world.

    Steve creates a relaxed and fun learning environment; his enthusiastic teaching style is down-to-earth and practical - peppered with jokes, the odd song and humorous anecdotes from the restaurant world.

    The AGA course at Brook Hall brings together Steve's skills as a top restaurant chef with the extensive cooking facilities offered by an AGA heat-storage range cooker. Taking AGA cooking a step further than traditional roasts, stews and baking, Steve will show you how to create sophisticated dinner party food ranging from seared scallops on the hotplate to wonderful brioche in the roasting oven, and fashionable 24-hour slow cooking in the cooler ovens.

    As well as great recipes, Steve will pass on his restaurant tips for preparing quick dishes and cooking ahead of time, so you can create fabulous meals with the minimum of stress. There are a maximum of 20 students on an AGA course, so you will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
