Andrews Sisters on song in latest AGA Ladies’ Open Point-to-Point Championship qualifier

For the third successive week, the Andrews sisters were in opposition in an AGA Ladies' Open Point-to-point Championship qualifier and for the younger sibling, Bridget, it was déjà vu with Gina again finishing in front.

Gina - the reigning national champion - was booked on Monday to partner Quedillac by Stuart Penny, who trains the eight-year-old for octogenarian Hazel Goody. Hazel had pointers with John Dufosee for countless years and when he sadly died in 2010 she transferred her allegiance to Stuart, who was Duf's right-hand man.

Owner and trainer went on a shopping trip in the summer to Tim Vaughan's yard, where they looked at half a dozen horses before Tim pulled out Quedillac, a hurdle and chase winner, for inspection.

The success was an especially memorable one for Stuart, who professed himself delighted to have now both ridden and trained a winner for Hazel - he partnered her Frank Byrne to victory a few years ago.

He will shortly be moving to a new yard at Inwood Court, Henstridge, home of the de Pelet family, where, he enthused, the facilities will be fantastic.

Race winner Gina Andrews was filmed after the race being interviewed by respected point-to-point photographer John Beasley. The video can be viewed online at
